Our History
When the primary family visitation center closed in Chattanooga, local lawyers and judges approached C. Wayne Williams, a Licensed Professional Counselor, regarding the need for supervised family visitation services to continue. Wayne began to talk about it to several other people and they discussed the process for establishing a non-profit Center in Chattanooga so visitation services could be accessed by all families in need, including those with limited income. He spoke with a long-time friend who has an extraordinary history of fostering non-profit entities. After that, Wayne contacted Community leaders who had previously directed supervised visitation services. They provided a wealth of knowledge and information about getting the vision off the ground. After much consideration, we established the Family Visitation Center of Chattanooga. We are now able to provide supervised visitation services inside and outside in the community.
Our Services
We will provide income-sensitive, in-person monitored, supervised visitation for children to see their parents/guardians and other family members as ordered by courts in our area. Fees range from $25-$75 per hour.
We will provide a safe place to exchange custody of children between their caregivers for those who need a safe place to do so. Fees will range from $25-$50 based on income and/or court order.
At no cost, we will provide appropriate referrals to mental health providers, family counselors, parenting training, anger management classes, and other appropriate programs for those needing or desiring those services.
